Peter Coura has always been known to go off the beaten track when it comes to building basses.
In 1976 he built upright electrics for people like Eberhard Weber, Harvie Swartz, Bo Stief, to name a few.
The same year the first 6-string-bassguitar with a sliding pick-up left his workshop.
All this first-hand experience flows into the MALINDI-BASSES, made in Nairobi and set up in Frankfurt.
Check out the "almost-fretless" fingerboard in the big picture, as played by Wolfgang Schmid.
Available options:
fretted, fretless or "almost fretless"
1 pickup or 2 pickups
active or passiv or both
Choice of wood:
body: Mvule, Mukango,Mahogany
neck: Maple
fingerboard: Ebony
The "BURU BURU BASS" as played
by Kai Eckhard is built only
in a VERY small quantity by
Peter Coura himself in Germany.
