| Udo Pipper wrote in the march 2008 issue of German
magazine "Gitarre&Bass": All instruments show fantastic exotic woods, which are shaped and processed by hand. The pickups and the electronics are mostly manufactured according to individual desires in close co-operation with pickup icon Harry Häussel. I was convinced of the enormous quality of some of these models in Peter Couras Guitar shop in Frankfurt. The Kenya Guitars are despite their visible affiliation to one of the respective model families, by all means unique pieces, because each instrument owns a very personal touch. If it’s the selection of woods, the finish or the sophisticated switching circuit, which permits numerous sound options, several characteristics are always to be discovered: You literally feel and hear the manual work when playing. These guitars are not for the showcase, and especially not holiday trophies with a pushy exotics-nimbus. These instruments are to be played by professionals, who hear this very special timbre of the continent. Every guitar seems to own this “vibe”, a sound as widespread as the Kenyan horizon. |

Happy Customer Peter Zöphel in an e-mail Dear Peter! Your 2 guitars are just GORGEOUS!! Imho: great pieces of art! ... Together with your splendid tone-controls I get those cello-like sounds that come right from my heart... Your guitars immediately built up an emotional bond, I would dare to say: Love at first tone. Let me just say "Thank you!" for this experience, when all the subtle moods can be heard. GREAT!

Heinz Rebellius wrote in "Gitarre&Bass" 3/06: ... we tested the Realizer with the "COURA Masaimara Jazz". This is a solidbody-jazz-guitar, and by all means an elegant, distinct and thoroughly convincing instrument. Anyone loving to play loud Jazz should really give it a try ... switching on the RealizeR your singlenote-lines suddenly get this extra bite and chords gain definition and transparency when playing jazzy stuff on the neck pickup. Turning down the volume pot shows an interesting effect: since the RealizeR-signal is not affected you get an ideal rhythm sound, very precise and distinguished... ... The Masaimara Jazz indeed sounds at any level like an archtop. Comping is pure fun and lead-lines have this very special acoustic touch no real jazzguitarist would do without.... This Guitar sounds in every case more "acoustic" than any common semi-acoustic and this all without the danger of feedback. A real alternative, if you have to play jazz in a loud band. |
